How do I share media?

Learn how to post videos, photos, notes and more in a Space or Group.

Written by Alex Berlin

Sharing media in CoachNow is how coaches and athletes communicate, give feedback, and track progress over time. You can post videos, photos, notes, audio, and documents directly into any Space or Group.

πŸ“ Want to keep something private? If you upload media directly to your Library, it stays private to you only β€” it won't be visible to anyone else until you post it to a Space or Group.

Step 1 β€” Navigate to your Space or Group

Open CoachNow and tap into the Space or Group you'd like to post in. If you post from the Home or Feed instead, you'll be asked to select which Space(s) or Group(s) the post should go into before publishing.

Step 2 β€” Tap the orange capture button

Tap the orange capture button to see your media options:

  • Video β€” opens your camera to record a new video

  • Photo β€” opens your camera to take a new photo

  • Library β€” choose existing media from your device camera roll or CoachNow Library

  • Note β€” create a text-based post

  • Audio β€” record a new audio clip

  • Document β€” attach a file from Dropbox, Word, iCloud, and more

Step 3 β€” Edit and customize your post

Once you've selected or captured your media you'll be taken to the post editing view where you can:

  • Add tags β€” organize your post so it's easy to find later (e.g. "full swing", "drills", "technique")

  • Annotate your media β€” tap the pencil icon over the media thumbnail to telestrate or edit before posting. Note: if you use Snapshot or Recording features here, your original media will be replaced.

Step 4 β€” Post it

Tap Post and your media will be uploaded to the selected Space or Group. Larger files may take a moment β€” you can track upload progress by tapping the lightning bolt icon in the top bar of the Feed.

Replying to a post

To reply to an existing post, open it and tap the reply field at the bottom. You can reply with text, video, photos, audio, or a document β€” same options as creating a new post.

Tips for great posts

  • Recaps β€” after a session or event, post a quick text or selfie video summarizing what you worked on and what you learned

  • Technique videos β€” tag them consistently so they're easy to find and compare over time

  • Drills β€” don't just post the video, add a note explaining the "why" behind the drill

  • Results β€” share scores, stats, or leaderboard photos and add context around what they mean to your development
